The Belfast Softball Club open day on Sunday 30th of March started with a friendly match against the "Deadliest Catch". This newly
formed team from Dublin came up to Belfast to experience the nightlife a softball game. The first game was won by the Deadliest Catch with 4-10. As these games were
friendly and all for the purpose of teaching and learning softball, another games was played an won by the Belfast Brawlers 11-5.
After the Deadliest Catch made their way back to Dublin again and all await the next meeting for the best of three. Against all odds the weather was brilliant during
the morning games. Unfortunately when it was time for the open day a thunder and lightning storm struck. This did not stop the people that came out
from waiting for the sun to return.
When the weather cleared up we returned to the pitch for a quick warm-up and introduction to throwing and catching. After this the 27
people were slit into two groups and the game was on. The games were a great way of getting the new people introduced to this sport.
Thanks to all the Brawlers for coming out and making it a great day!!
